About Me

Hi, I’m Leah! I am a Rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College in New York. I grew up in Wilmette, Illinois, and my love for Judaism blossomed at camp, having spent summers at URJ OSRUI as a camper, counselor, songleader, Unit Head, and most recently the Director of Staff Learning. I graduated from Brandeis University, where I studied Sociology and Near Eastern Judaic Studies, and I spent a semester studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. After college, I worked on the full-time education team at Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

During my time as a Rabbinical student, I have served as Rabbinic Intern at Congregation Kol Ami in White Plains, New York , engaging with all ages and areas of the congregation and building an even deeper love of congregational life. I also spent a summer as a chaplain-intern at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, led High Holy Days at the University of Rochester, worked as a Songleader and Jewish Educator with BBYO across the country, and have been a graduate fellow with The Nachshon Project.

In my free time, I love being a part of my book club, trying out gluten-free recipes, and knitting (ask me about the Chanukah sweater I made)!
